What It Means To Protect Black Women-Part 1: Visibility

As it relates to protecting Black women this is a societal, multi-tiered issue. but I like to believe that protecting Black women is possible! It starts as simple as believing us. Primarily, protection starts with seeing us! We no longer live in a world or telling a Black woman “I don’t see color!” is applicable.
Anything that you desire to protect you first have to be willing to see. Seeing something means you acknowledge it exists!
Since Black women exist, we are owed the same human rights that are so easily applied to any other woman in this country! Protecting us means that you value Black women beyond our labor!
Black women are the only women in this nation who had money ascribed to their ability! And we were still treated less than cows or mice. Protection always parallels value.
The question that needs to be asked is: Why don’t we value Black women?
BLACK WOMEN EXIST.
BLACK WOMEN ARE HUMAN.
HUMAN RIGHTS BELONG TO BLACK WOMEN.
