Thank You, Darnella Frazier

Darnella Frazier caught a police officer murder a person with a knee on his neck with a cell phone and uploaded it and the world saw it. And caught fire.

Darnella Frazier is now 18 years old.

You see, Black women are always somewhere between seeing, knowing and doing, present in the everywhere! Darnella Frazier is proof that the one whom will and does change the world–is normally a Black woman. And why shouldn’t that be so?! Feminista Jones says that the ideal activist is a Black woman: we can fight against both racism and sexism simultaneously! The thing that makes Darnella so dynamic is this honor of a Pultizer Prize comes one year after the posthumous win of Ida B. Wells Barnett in 2020.

Let Darnella’s bravery be a reminder that Black women can, will, be, shall, are instrumental in the freedom of us a people–and may just be the key to the salvation of this nation from itself.

Brava Darnella, Brava.
