It’s STAR WARS DAY!
As one that is the daughter of a sci-fi nerd, and the mother of blerds, today I want to focus on joy! I want to celebrate the launch of this app: BLACK SANDS ENTERTAINMENT!
This is an app launched by President Manuel Godoy was available in the App Store and Google Play on May 1, 2021–and I sure have downloaded it! Representation matters, and as the mother of a child that loves comics? I am thrilled that she now has a place where she can see herself! Who knows? Maybe her name will be on a comic cover too!
I say all that to say this: STOP SHAMING BLACK CHILDREN FOR WHAT THEY LIKE.
It doesn’t make a child ‘wanting to be white’ because they want to speak Klingon, quote Star Wars, have a pension for science, cosplay, love math, or they play D&D! Flat out? I am waiting to cosplay as Sailor Saturn or Sailor Pluto! I am waiting on this, do you hear me?
