What Has The Pandemic Taught Me? Patience.

Wisdom. Get some, Torches.

“Patience is a virtue, when used in moderation.” -Me.

What this pandemic has truly taught me is the power of patience. I have learned that I seek control things that I truly have no control over.

Planning.

Schedules.

School appointments.

Personal appointments.

COVID-19 has humbled Muva Firestarter, do you hear me? HUMBLED. With all my racing, running and building, I prayed for rest. I prayed and promised myself “If I had more time, I would (fill in the blank).” It took a global pandemic, almost being homeless, my children’s school being shut down, and losing a marriage to realize just how impatient I was! How I thought I had to kick start the world before anything could or should happen.

In that humility, I am learning to be patient. I am learning to take things as they come–and realize that is okay too! I am realizing I don’t have to make the world bend to my will. Sometimes, the best thing is to let things play out.

The pandemic has forced me to grow up–moreso.

Becoming patient is one of those things that you develop–it doesn’t happen to you. Patience is one of those virtues that is forced upon you by circumstances, through disappointments and even hardship. It is the realization that you are not as powerful as you think you are, so be okay with that.

Be okay with everything not going according to plan! You have to realize what you have and work with what you have. Work the plan until the plan can change. Be patient!

The pandemic has taught me, shown me, that is time to grow up. And I was more tired than I ever thought.
