The Absence Of Fear: It’s Never Too Late To Be Unafraid

The world we live in today, you could easily be wrapped in fear. Seriously! With police killings, racism, internet trolls being at an all-time high, being afraid is the new normal.

It’s understandable, yet crippling. At this juncture in life, you will have to make a choice. Do you continue to live your life being paralyzed by fear or do you make the choice to take your life back?

Overcoming fear is easier said than done. It takes a lot of work. It takes restructuring of your thoughts and taking your negative feelings captive that kept you in fear. You must make those choices, day-by-day, minute-by-minute and often moment-by-moment.  

Don’t be discouraged!

You can do this! Here are a fear helpful tips to move past fear.

1. Self-Care. Within this big, beautiful world, lies some unfortunate darkness. With that being said, take some time out for yourself. Whether it’s meditation, taking yourself to a movie, or taking a much-needed spa day! It’s important that you take care of you. Self-care helps to calm your mind, body and spirit. It rejuvenates you to give the strength to continuously triumph over your fear. 

2. Positivity and facing your fear. Believe it or not, your surroundings play a huge part in what your fear. Depending on the level of fear you have, we can sometimes create a life and space that accommodates our fear. If you are afraid of crowds, you are not going to visit places such as: water parks, fairs, carnivals, etc. You then create a life in which you avoid the thing or things you fear. Keeping people around who enable this behavior damage you by unconsciously feeding your fear. This can have a negative effect on your life. Take hold of the negative thoughts that try to creep in and replace them with positive affirmations. Replace your circle with people who are going to lovingly help you in facing your fears and help you on a path to living your best life.

3. Counseling. Fear comes in many forms. It also affects us all differently. If none of the other options work for you, then I would suggest seeking additional help. There is nothing wrong with making sure your mental health and awareness is intact. Talking to someone with a non-biased opinion, who can give you additional tips that can not only help you but help someone else in the future. 

In conclusion, I have personally dealt and am still dealing with over coming my fears. It’s hard work! But it can be done. As for me? I do daily affirmations, taking captive of any negative thoughts and feelings I may have. I also analyze why I fear these things and make a conscious effort to continue to overcome them.

We all have had fears that we face. Have the courage to love you enough to push forward and finally being free, with peace and love.
